Yep, my blog has moved to my new website! I've been away from my blog for a little while, been busy putting together my new website and blog. It's almost finished, I was going to wait until it was, but I'm pretty excited to start posting over there now.
Come have a look... www.becwinnel.com.
My new blog feed is http://becwinnel.com/?feed=rss2
Hope you like it. When you pop over there, to the blog part, right down the bottom you can click on the link to subscribe to the rss feed.
I decided to migrate to a website and blog that is all-in-one, hopefully it's an improvement and a time saver... more time for drawing :)

Hello! My blog has moved to my new website!
The Brush Project

How cool is this! Several famous artists have donated THEIR paintbrushes to The Brush Project, which is a charity auction giving you the chance to purchase a unique piece of artist memorabilia, one that isn’t usually available to collectors.
The auctions for Brush Project 2 will be held on eBay beginning Saturday, September 26th and concluding on Saturday, October 10th. The brushes will be displayed at Rotofugi Gallery in Chicago for the duration of the auction. All bidding, however, will be held online via eBay. We will be hosting an opening reception for the Brush Project concurrent with the opening of “My Kind of Town: A Chicago Artists Group Exhibit” at the gallery on Friday, September 25 from 7pm until 10pm.

Lori Early's paintbrush.

Mark Ryden's paintbrush.
Visit The Brush Project website here to read more and see a full list of the artists who have donated and pictures of their brushes.

Silk Cocoon

Colour pencil, graphite and pastel on paper. 19 x 25 cm.
It's been hard finding personal drawing time of late. She has been 'in the making' for about 5 weeks. It feels nice to have a piece finished. Hope to start a new one today.
I styled this image myself, most of it is from imagination but also reference from several different images to get the highlights and shadows correct... one for the rose, one for the face, and one for the hair.
Have a good weekend!

It's a bit of big news for me and a step forward to my dream of drawing all day every day.
I'm happy to share I'm now being exclusively represented by Illustration Ltd!
I'm along side some of my favourite artists including Sara Hingle, Nadia Flower and Petra Dufkvoa.
You can see my portfolio that is now 'live' over here.
Tonight I'm off to see Kate Lightfoot's exhibition, Flirt, at 696 (see my previous post)... can't wait!

I think they are absolutely adorable. You can see more of her work here.
In other news, have just busy with a bit of commission work and busy drawing in preparation for my solo show. SO much to do :) Oh, my little cat Audrey got beat up by another cat. She is okay but, she is well on the mend. She has 7 holes in her! I found a few, and then the vet found more.

Work In Progress

I'm not sure why, it dosn't seem like my normal drawing, but I've gone for a girl with closed eyes this time! Not sure if I'm liking her yet, she is nearly finished, so I'll keep going until she is, then decide :)

Sesame Magazine

The lovely Sesame Magazine asked me to illustrate photos from this gorgeous fashion shoot
by Germain McMicking and Thuy Vy. I've illustrated the faces and then scanned them into Photoshop. I erased everything except the face from my drawing, placed its layer over the original photograph and to the original photo, I've lightened, blurred and erased most of it down to the bare minimum. Visit Sesame Magazine here to see the latest issue. Trust me, you won't be disappointed!
